The Presidency has dismissed as false a report circulating on social media alleging an attempt to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement reacting to a viral video, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga described the claim as fake news and urged the public to disregard it.

According to Onanuga, no kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa were arrested and there was no attempt to poison the President.

“No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by this video,” he stated.

The Presidency called on Nigerians to verify information from credible sources and avoid spreading unsubstantiated reports capable of causing unnecessary panic.
