Information reaching our newsroom indicate that there was a brazen attack on the office of former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, Henry Idahagbon this afternoon.

According to eye witness report, the hoodlums who were not masked arrived the office premises located on 52B Siluko Road Benin City which is in the neighborhood of the Oliha market at about 2 pm today in 6 Hilux vehicles and started shooting sporadically, while concentrating on Barr. Idahagbon’s private office in the second floor. All the glass windows in the building were shattered and bullet holes can be seen on the walls.

Barr. Henry Idahagbon is a co-convener of the Edo People’s Movement ( EPM) an Edo State APC group opposed to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s second tenure bid. Not too long ago, he cried out that he had credible information that Governor Godwin Obaseki is in discussion with assasins to eliminate him and other APC members in the state for their uncompromising stand against his second tenure bid.

As at the time of filing this report, Barr. Idahagbon’s whereabouts is unknown, although he answered a call placed to his mobile phone. He confirmed the incident and was full of praises to God for sparing his life. He promised to get back to our reporters as soon as possible.

The police from Oba Market Police Station and members of the press from various news organisations in the state have besieged the premises
