The Kosofe Local Government has debunked a false report published in the media alleging an attack on a self-acclaimed journalist, Habeeb Adejobi.
An official statement issued by the Public Affairs department of Kosofe Local Government read:
The attention of the management of Kosofe Local Government has been drawn to a report by PM News published yesterday Wednesday, 12th March,2026 alleging that suspected loyalists of the Executive Chairman, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe were involved in an attack on a self acclaimed journalist with MITV, Habeeb Adejobi.
This is to let the general public know that the Barr. Ogunlewe led administration did not order any attack on the said journalist or any other individual.
The Executive Chairman is law abiding and has taking such allegation with utmost concern considering the good reputation and long standing relationship with members of the media by taking their safety and dignity as a matter of great importance.
The Local Government is committed to mutual respect and cooperation with members of the press, whose role in promoting transparency and public awareness remains invaluable.
While the circumstances surrounding the reported incident are being carefully reviewed, the administration assures the public that appropriate steps will be taken to ascertain the facts and justice served.
Kosofe Local Government remains committed to upholding professionalism, accountability, and respect for press freedom.
