Aman, Monday Chukwu, aged 34, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his friend Kefa Ofando, 30, over a debt of N2000.
The incident occurred in Akintola village, Odigbo local government area of Ondo State, where Ofando had lent Chukwu the money.
When Ofando demanded repayment, he was reportedly stabbed with scissors by Chukwu.
Chukwu was presented among 13 suspects at the Ondo State police headquarters for a range of crimes, including armed robbery, murder, arson, and theft.
Additionally, Renan Niju, a suspected arsonist from Lapepe, Bolorunduro in Ondo East, was arrested for allegedly setting a school on fire amid a chieftaincy dispute.
He was caught returning to the scene with lighter and fuel, intending to inflict more damage.
Also paraded was a four-man gang specialising in stealing vehicle brain boxes and other valuables.
The suspects include 36-year-old Ifeanyi Obiefunna, 43-year-old Joseph Agwu, 32-year-old Obinna Uyammadu, and 38-year-old Onyeka Okoye.
Agwu, residing in Akure, acted as an informant, alerting other gang members to come to the state for their operations before returning to Lagos.
The Ondo Police Commissioner, Abayomi Oladipo, stated that the suspects would soon face charges in court following the investigation’s conclusion.
