Nigeria’s Grammy award-winning artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has come under criticism again for walking out the stage mid performance at the Greater Lagos Countdown 2025.

The event which featured A-list Nigerian artistes including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Vibez, Burna Boy and other star artistes, had fans anticipating the day.

A viral video showing the artiste thrilling his fans with his music was released of the event, during the performance, an overly excited fan jumped on stage for reasons which remain a mystery.

Burna Boy, who was without his personal detail at the time did his best to hold back the fan with his foot. After the unidentified fan was taken off stage, Burna Boy‘s emotion was visibly running high and he asked the Dj who was already beginning another song to end it.

The popular singer shook his head, covered his face with a towel probably to hide his frustration and then exited the stage, leaving his fans standing in dumbfounded confusion.

This incident has sparked different reactions online especially on the popular X social platform, where netizens shared their opinions.

One X user, @shxkxbabu said “imagine messi leaving the pitch just because a fan ran into him and he’s angry, burna boy is actually stup!d,”

Another X user, @flygodT posted “If Burna Boy doesn’t like Nigerians then he should stop performing in the country, he’s always doing this leaving the stage thing & it’s not fair to the people that actually come to these shows because of him,”

Not having many supporters on his side, another user,@Anointed256 said “Question

Was he going to kick the fan or leave the stage if he was in Europe or US????

These artists only do this to fellow African.”

While many called it pride, others attributed his latest stunt to arrogance, whichever it is, Burna Boy is slowly becoming known as the artiste who loves to kick his overly excited fans, as this is not his first rodeo.
