Tragedy struck yesterday at Kodesoh Street, near Computer Village in Ikeja, as a sudden and powerful explosion tore through the area, leaving many injured and destroying properties worth millions of naira.

The explosion occurred in the afternoon, sending panic across the bustling commercial district. Eyewitnesses described the blast as “fast and terrible,” with nearby buildings, vehicles, and shops suffering significant damage.

While the exact cause of the explosion remains unclear, accounts from witnesses are conflicting. Some claim the incident was triggered by a gas leak, while others suspect it may have originated from an inverter system.

Emergency response teams, including firefighters and security personnel, quickly arrived at the scene to contain the fire and rescue victims. Several injured individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

As of the time of this report, no fatalities have been confirmed, but the extent of property loss is still being assessed.
