The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the federal government’s new tax laws, describing them as regressive and harmful to workers and low-income Nigerians.

NLC President Joe Ajaero said the laws were introduced without consulting workers, warning that taxing people living in extreme poverty is unjust. He urged the government to suspend the policies for review, cautioning that organised labour may resist if concerns are ignored.
