Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has delivered his first public statement since assuming the country’s highest leadership position, vowing revenge against those responsible for the deaths of members of his family during the ongoing conflict.
In the message broadcast on Iranian state media, Khamenei called for unity among Iranians while acknowledging the heavy personal losses he suffered during the war.

“I lost my father and my wife in this aggression,” he said, describing the devastating impact the conflict has had on his family and the nation.

His father, Ali Khamenei, who served as Iran’s Supreme Leader for more than three decades, reportedly died during the early stages of the war following attacks linked to the escalating confrontation between Iran and its adversaries.

Call for national unity
