Police gets accolades for arresting notorious killer

The Nigeria Police Force has been commended for arresting the prime suspects in the death of several young women in parts of Rivers State.
The Rivers State Security Council, which is presided over by Governor Nyesom Wike, after an emergency meeting in Port Harcourt City, told newsmen that the efforts of the police to apprehend three suspects was impressive.
Dr. Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, who spoke to journalists, said that the meeting commended the painstaking efforts of the Nigeria Police and other security agencies.
He said the Rivers State Government has absolute confidence in the ability of the police and other security agencies to tackle the challenge posed by these killers, who target young women.

According to him, the confession by the prime suspect involved in the killings, indicated that he operated successfully in Lagos and Imo States and managed to evaded arrest until he was apprehended in Rivers State due to the intense efforts of the police.
“The Police and other security agencies in Rivers State are on top of their game. This success show that the support given to security outfits by the Rivers State Government like the ‘Operation Sting’ and other covet security initiatives is yielding positive results”, he said.
Danagogo urged the public to be vigilant and support security agencies with relevant information that would enhance the jobs of the personnel and reduce criminalities.
The SSG reiterated the advice of the security council to unsuspecting young women, stating the Rivers State Security Council is advising young women and other residents not to let down their guards despite the arrest of the prime suspect. You must be vigilant at all times.
He hinted that the Governor has directed all security agencies in the State to be more alert and gave assurance of the administrations commitment to continue to provide the needed logistical for all operations to protect the people.
