The State Government of Osun has tasked its Information Officers to report the activities of government across the different Ministries, Departments and Agencies, with accuracy and precision.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, while addressing Information Officers serving across different MDAs in the State, today, said accurate reporting of government’s activities to the citizens plays a complementary role in the overall development of the State.

According to her: “There is a growing need for developmental journalism in the State as part of measures to advance the growth of the society, and Information Officers are the professionals that have been strategically positioned to drive the process.

“The government is doing so much to better the lives of the citizens of Osun, and we need to complement government’s efforts. There are developmental stories everywhere. We need to do better and project the good image of government.

“As information Officers, you need to keep your ears to the ground and be attentive to whatever goes on in your Ministry, Department or Agency. We cannot afford to relax in the discharge of our responsibilities”, Egbemode stated.
