“Police shielding my Attackers from Justice”- Ogun Resident Cries out

A 35- year- old resident of Obada area in Abeokuta ,Ogun State,Lameed Iskis has fled his home after the police allegedly shielded his attackers from justice .

Iskis ,who accused the public relations officer in charge of the state police command ,Abimbola Oyeyemi of preventing his attackers from facing the law ,called on the state commissioner of police,Edward Ajogun to order a thorough investigation into the matter .

The Ogun resident narrated that “it all started on the 20thof October 2020,when I was driving out of my house in the Obada area of Abeokuta.”

“Just as I was trying to link the road ,a vehicle with three occupants suddenly attacked my vehicle and I only recognized Seyi alias Machiavelli among them.”

He also added that “I quickly locked my car doors but Seyi called four people ,who came on two motorcycles with axes in their hands but I drove roughly to escape from them.”

“Since that day ,I ran away from my house after I had reported the incident at the Area Commander’ s office and they arrested Seyi and confirmed that he actually attacked me .”

Iskis also stated that ” the area commander directed that the case should be charged to court but the suspect was granted bail after a teacher stood as his surety.”

“A day before he was supposed to be arraigned in court,he assurred the IPO that he would be in court the following day but he did not show up ”

The resident also continued that ” true to his words that the police could not do anything to him ,the suspect ran to the office of the PPRO and the case file was asked to be transferred to the state headquarters ”

” My life is now in serious danger .The CP should order a thorough investigation into the case .I cannot go home .I live in fear now .The police should save means my family.”

Efforts to get the reaction of the image maker in charge of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi failed as calls to his mobile phone line were not answered.
