The Lagos State Government has said it will close all vehicular movement around the Teslim Balogun Stadium, venue of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Lesotho, for 12 hours on Tuesday.

Frederic Oladeinde, Commissioner of Transportation in the state, who made the announcement in a statement on Monday, said the closure is necessary, in order to effectively manage traffic and tighten security at the stadium.

He assured that provisions have been made to manage traffic along the axis within the period all vehicular movement would be restricted.

Consequently, motorists have been advised to avoid movement around the stadium from 10:00am.

Traffic approaching the stadium from Ojuelegba and Alaka/Eric Moore can only pass through the flyover.

The statement also said only vehicles with VVIP stickers or tickets would be allowed to approach the stadium and park, while vehicles conveying persons with VVIP tickets would be permitted to drive into the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Oladeinde appealed to motorists who use the corridor frequently to cooperate with officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), who would be deployed to manage traffic
