A journalist, who is a cameraman attached to the Information Unit of Jibia Local Government of Katsina State, was on Monday, shot dead by bandits in Kukar-Babangida area when he responded to a distress call from his female neighbour during a kidnap incident
The armed men eventually whisked the woman away. Sources say she is the mother of a traditional title holder in Niger Republic.
The assailants also abducted several commuters on the Katsina-Jibia road, most of whom are residents of Magamar Jibia
