Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation Distributes Food Items, Cash Gifts To Over 100 Widows In Lagos | Citizen NewsNG • Lagos CAN Chairman, Bishop Adegbite Advocates Social Welfare Package For Senior Citizens, Less Privileged • Residents, Beneficiaries Commend Executive Director, Prince Taiwo Oyekan

The Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan (KAO) Foundation distributed different food items worth millions of Naira and presented cash gifts to over one Hundred (100) Widows in downtown Lagos on Thursday, 15th September 2022.

Citizen NewsNG reports that each of the Beneficiary was gifted Ten (10) Kilograms of Rice, Beans and Garri; totalling Thirty(30) Kilograms with a Cash gift.

According to the Executive Director, Prince Taiwo Oyekan, KAO Foundation was established in memory of his late Father and Heir (Prince Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan) of the deceased revered Lagos Monarch, His Royal Highness Oba Adeyinka Oyekan ||.

Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation was established in 2015. It was duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. It is a Non-Governmental Organisation with its Headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.

“KAO Foundation is solely set up to Uplift the Citizenry and rekindle hope of the Vulnerable, Prince Oyekan”, told Citizen NewsNG.

A Beneficiary from Isale-Eko Area, Iga Iduganran Mrs. Mulikat Buhari said: “Taiye Omo Oba (Hon. Taiwo Oyekan) has done a lot of good things for us to alleviate our sufferings. I pray that he will never lack any good thing. The Almighty God will continue to bless and guide him”.

Another Widow, Mrs. Adijat Bello, a resident of Ward C1, Lagos Island Local Government area described Late Prince Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan(BABU) in whose memory the Foundation was established as an Upright, Generous and Kind-hearted man during his lifetime.

“Almighty Allah will continue to uplift Taiye (The Executive Director) to higher positions. He is a good son to me and other women in our area”, Mrs. Bello prayed.

“Indeed, Hon. Taiwo is emulating his father’s gestures. he is promoting his late father’s legacies in the Neighbourhoods and beyond”, she concluded.

As a serving Council Legislator and Development enthusiast, Prince Taiwo Oyekan has constructed Five(5) Borehole Water Systems across the Communities in his Ward. He has also distributed educational materials and Issued scholarships to indigent brilliant students to Promote learning and knowledge acquisition.

During a chat with Citizen NewsNG, The Lagos Prince reiterated KAO Foundation”s commitment to poverty alleviation, Human capital development, Community cum Social intervention programme.

On his part, the Lagos State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Stephan Adegbite described the late Prince Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan as a man with a large heart: a Philanthropist whose  deeds cut across ethnicity and religion.

Speaking further, Adegbite recalled how the late Prince Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan lived a selfless life and ensured that  the less privileged in his Community never go to bed hungry.

“BABU (Late Prince Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan) was a Philanthropist and a cheerful giver. He was never tired of giving. He was loved by everyone in the community. He lived his life for others”, Adegbite eulogised.

The Christian Cleric urged Government at different levels to formulate policy beneficial to the Citizenry and provide social security package for senior citizens and the Poor.

He however called on Corporate organisations and High Network Individuals in the society to partner with the foundation to intensify its activities on Citizen Empowerment and social intervention with the aim of alleviating hardship among the People.

In her remark, an elder sister to Prince Taiwo  oyekan, Mrs. Adewunmi Adegbite(Nee Oyekan) recalled good memories of her father. She said: “My late Dad was a Philanthropist and Cheerful Giver”.

“After he passed on, I and my siblings thought of setting up of a foundation to keep his memory alive and further project his good legacies”, Mrs. Adegbite said.

Citizen NewsNG checks reveals that recently,  KAO Foundation presented One Hundred Thousand Naira(N100,000) Scholarship to a University Admission Seeker, Miss Adebisi Jinadu. Miss Jinadu was admitted into the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun to study Economics and Education.

Similarly, KAO Foundation gifted a One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) Scholarship to Miss Kanyinsola Yusuf, a JSS 2 student of Government Secondary Grammar School after she emerged as the Overall Best in a Debate Competition organized during the Grand finale of Summer Coaching held at Holy Trinity Primary School, Ebute-Ero, Lagos Island, Lagos.

In the past, Prince Oyekan has empowered Constituents with Start-up Capital, Equipment such as Sewing Machines, Motorised Pepper Grinder Machines and Hairdryers.

Prince Oyekan also presented a cash gift to Mrs. Sherifat Giwa, a resident of Iduntafa Quarters, Isale-Eko Area to set up a Carbonated Drinks stall to ensure that she has a sustainable source of livelihood.

Senior citizens are not left out of the numerous Social Intervention Programmes of Prince Taiwo Oyekan on Lagos Island and beyond.

Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan (KAO) Foundation has continued to uplight the People and rekindle hope of the Vulnerable.
