Nigeria’s Leading Non-Governmental Organisation, The Chris Bamidele Onalaja Foundation (CBOF), An Initiative of Revolution Plus Group has again distributed Food items worth millions of Naira to Widows and indigent in Lagos.
Citizen NewsNG reports that over three hundred (300) Widows were gifted 25Kgs of Bags of Rice and Two (2) Litres of Vegetable oil on Monday 12th December, 2022 in Ikeja, Lagos.
While responding to questions from Citizen NewsNG, the founder of CBOF and Group Managing Director of Revolution Plus Property, Dr. Chris Bamidele Onalaja said that he was inspired to give to the needy right from his childhood; An attitude he inherited from his late Father.
“The level of poverty in the country is high; this is also one of the reasons we cater for the less-privileged and elderly people”, Dr. Onalaja said.
Dr. Chris Bamidele Onalaja is the Patron of CBOF while his wife, Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja is the Matron.
He stated further that the empowerment and social Intervention programmes are organised in February and May to commemorate the Birthdays of the couple.
According to Dr. Onalaja, a large number of citizens have been trained in skill acquisition and vocational jobs. Upon Completion of tutorship, Startup funds were disbursed to the Beneficiaries to set up Small and Medium Scale Businesses.
The Beneficiaries were trained in Tailoring and Fashion Designing, Hairdressing and Soap making. Equipment such as Sewing Machines, Automated Pepper Grinding Machines and Hairdryer machines were presented.
On her part, the Matron, Mrs. Onalaja told Citizen NewsNG that she received divine instruction from God to render help and feed the Widows and children.
“We are committed to uplift and impact human lives positively.To rekindle hope of the Vulnerable and feed the Widows”, Mrs. Onalaja continued.
CBOF was founded in 2019 by Dr. Chris Bamidele Onalaja to empower, lift people out of poverty and rekindle hope of the Vulnerable in Nigeria and beyond.
Major Humanitarian services include but not limited to Child and Maternal Health, Widows Empowerment, Education and Scholarship, Economic and Community Development, Public Health and Water Sanitation and Hygiene.
Citizen NewsNG gathered further that the Bi-annual Corporate Social Responsibly Initiative cut across religions and ethnicities. The general public are encouraged to register their biodata at the Ikeja office of the Foundation.
Dr. Onalaja urged the Beneficiaries to continue to pray for CBOF so that the Team can continue to do more for the needy in the Society.
While addressing the Beneficiaries, the Matron of CBOF, Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja urged Lagos residents to enrol for the next empowerment programme which will be held in February 2023. She said the foundation would accommodate more residents for enrollment.
Continuing, she said that in February 2022, forty-two(42) Widows were given a sum of One Thousand Naira (100,000) each to start businesses of their choice. Three hundred in 2021 while another set of Three hundred (300) Widows were given Bags of Rice and vegetable oil on Monday 12th December 2022.
It would be recalled that CBOF has built three (3) Schools in different locations in Lagos; namely Ikorodu, Makoko and Wasimi to reduce the number of out-of-school children, Promote learning and knowledge acquisition. One of the institutions of learning is TolDel Nursery and Primary School, Ikorodu, established to provide free education for the less-privileged children whose parents cannot afford tuition fees. The School is solely funded by the Chris Bamidele Onalaja Foundation (CBOF).
In 2021, CBOF constructed and donated a School in the Makoko community to the Inner-city Missions of Christ Embassy. In addition, a Five (5) Blocks of Classroom were built and presented to Wasimi Junior High School, Maryland, Lagos.
Citizen NewsNG also gathered that CBOF has issued Scholarships and Education grants to indigent students in public schools up to the University level.
In continuation of its corporate social responsibility, CBOF constructed a Primary Health Centre in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State (The Amuwo Odofin Maternal and Child Health Centre). It has also organised Free medical outreach in different Towns and Villages across the southwest and beyond. Borehole Water Systems have been drilled and delivered in different communities. A Police station was built in Ijebu Isonyi, Ogun State and offices refurbished in Ebute Metta, Lagos.
CBOF has partnered with different organisations and sponsored social events; one of such is the Lagos City Marathon.
The Lagos State Government and Rotary Club of Nigeria issued Certificates of Commendation to the Chris Bamidele Onalaja Foundation in appreciation to Human Capital Development and unmatched corporate social responsibility Initiatives in Lagos and Beyond.
On behalf of the Beneficiaries, an Octogenarian, Mrs. Victoria Ayilolobo expressed appreciation to the Patron and Matron of CBOF, Dr. Chris Bamidele Onalaja and wife, Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja for their support and Humanitarian service to the Widows and less-privileged in the Society.
Citizen NewsNG checks revealed that Since its inception, CBOF has empowered Seven Hundred (700) Widows in Lagos and Ogun States respectively.
According to the Matron, Mrs. Onalaja, One Thousand (1000) Widows would be empowered in 2023.
Indeed, the Chris Bamidele Onalaja Foundation’s (CBOF) Citizen Empowerment and Social Intervention Programmes have direct and positive impacts on the populace.
