Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Loyalists of the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Lagos Central Senatorial District Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni on Saturday 10th December, 2022 rallied support for the Party’s Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, their Principal, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, Federal House of Representatives Candidates, Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru and Hon. Moshood Kayode Akiolu (Lagos Island Constituency 1 and 2 respectively) and Lagos State House of Assembly Candidates, Hon. Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon and Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju Afinni.
Over One Hundred Thousand (100,000) Residents and Party Chieftains embarked on a Solidarity walk which took off from the Palace of Oba of Lagos through Iga Idunganran, Enu-Owa, Adeniji Adele Road, Omididun, Tokunboh Street, Oil Mill, Freeman Junction, Catholic Mission and terminated at Campos Mini Stadium.
While speaking with Newsmen, the TeamLead, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni said the Support Walk was planned to mobilise the electorate for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to Rt. Hon. Eshilokun, Asiwaju Tinubu’s Leadership is second to none;
He stated further that the former Lagos Governor’s Achievements during his administration has distinguished him as the best Presidential Candidate.
“We are determined to ensure resounding victory for all the candidates of our great party at the polls”, Rt. Hon. Eshilokun concluded.
On his own part, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal House of Representatives Candidate, Lagos Island Constituency 1, Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru said that the mammoth crowd witnessed at the rally testified to the popularity and acceptability of the Party among Lagos residents and Nigerians.
“Asiwaju is a Man of virtue, an astute Politician and a great political Achiever. Over years, he has shown Leadership prowess , innovation and creativity and administrative skills in governance to the world. He is the only candidate with credibility and undisputable values among others. He surpassed the records of other Presidential candidates. I am very optimistic that he(Tinubu) will win the Presidential election with wide votes margin at the polls”, Dr. Badru eulogised.
Dr. Badru urged party members to mobilise registered voters to collect their Permanent voters cards and vote for all the Candidates of the APC so that they would continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Similarly, the Federal House of Representatives Candidate, Lagos Island Constituency 2, Hon. Moshood Kayode Akiolu described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an exceptional Leader.
He recalled how Tinubu through his landmark achievements as Lagos State Governor set Lagos on the path of economic Prosperity and Pacesetter in Nigeria and Africa.
Hon. Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon, APC Lagos House of Assembly Candidate, Lagos Island Constituency 1 called on all women in Lagos and across the country to come out in large numbers during the general elections to cast their votes for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Eshilokun, Badru, Akiolu, Afinni and other APC Candidates across the country.
Executive Chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Muibi Alade Folawiyo said Nigerians are ready to vote for Tinubu as the President.
“We will continue to drum support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu till the last day of campaign. We will encourage and mobilise people to collect their PVCs”, He continued.
“The Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Lagos State(Conference 57) have promised to deliver five million votes for Asiwaju and all our Party’s candidates”, Hon. (Dr.) Folawiyo said.
He stated further that the Local Government Areas Chairmen would extend campaigns to the Hausa and Igbo communities and other ethnic groups in Lagos.
The council Chair charged Party members and Supporters to canvass for all the Candidates as the general elections approaches.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, a community Leader, simply identified as Mr. Babatunde expressed their readiness to support and vote for all the candidates of the APC.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni expressed appreciation to the Party’s candidates, Party Chieftains and faithfuls, Residents and other Participants.
Participants were treated to side attractions such as Cultural displays, music and comedies.
Present at the Walk were the Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru, Hon. Moshood Kayode Akiolu, Hon. Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon, Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju Afinni, Members of the Lagos state executive Council, Party Chieftains and Members, Honourable Councillors, Community Leaders, Lagos Island Fanty Associations, Youths and Students, Professionals, Market women, Artisans among others.
