In the spirit of Christmas, a Lagos Prince, Real Estate guru and Honourable Councillor of Ward C1, Lagos Island Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Taiwo Oyekan on Friday 23rd December, 2022 distributed over Two Hundred (200) 10Kgs Bags of Rice and Live Chickens to Widows in Lagos.

 

Christian faithful, Muslims and other Adherents were gifted 10Kgs Bag of Rice and a Chicken each, Citizen NewsNG gathered.

 

In his address, Prince Oyekan charged the widows to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ who during his lifetime sacrificed his life for Mankind. He also asked them to show love to one another.

 

According to him, “Christmas is a celebration, a time for giving and not simply a day we exchange gifts. The spirit of Christmas is in the Togetherness. It is in the thought to which you put into thinking about others, It is a Selfless time, where we forgive, take stock of what is important and become better versions of ourselves”.

 

He however reiterated his commitment to support, empower and protect the interests of the Vulnerable in the society.

 

“As the 2023 general elections approaches, I urge you to take active part in democratic process; mobilise and canvass for candidates with proven track records”, Prince Oyekan said.

 

“I also urge you to support and vote for our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru, Hon. Lara Oyekan-Olumegbon and other All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidates to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy and build a better Nigeria for Us and the future generations”, Prince Oyekan emphasized.

 

A Community Leader, Mr. Jide Jabiti enjoined the widows to pray for Nigeria. He also asked them to elect Leaders who can transform the country for the betterment of all and sundry.

 

During a chat with Citizen NewsNG, An Octogenarian who preferred to be addressed as Mama Lydia expressed gratitude and offered prayers for Prince Oyekan.

 

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Kuburat Salami said: “As you feed the Poor and Needy, may the Almighty Allah continue to protect, guide and bless you. I Pray that you will never lack anything good”.
