MTN Nigeria has suffered technical glitch that led to the temporary cancellation of debt from subscribers’ accounts who had borrowed airtime from the Telecom company.

Citizen NewsNG observed that some MTN customers in the early hours of Saturday were shocked when they checked their account balances but discovered that the airtime borrowed had disappeared, displaying zero balance.

While reacting, the telecom coy said the customers’ account balances were affected as as a result of technical issue.

A statement obtained by Citizen NewsNG reads:

“MTN Nigeria Communications Plc can confirm a system glitch impacting balance enquiries. As a result, some customers may receive error messages showing that their balances have been cleared,” the network provider said.

“This is not the case and all balances will reflect accurate figures once the problem is resolved. Our engineers are currently working to ensure this.

“Please accept our apologies. We regret the inconvenience.”

Citizen NewsNG sighted some Customers excited that their debts had been cleared by the company.
