The Borehole Water System Constructed By Hon. Olakunle Williams,  Leader ,  Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area 

 

 

 

 

The Majority Leader, Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Olakunle Williams has brought succour to the residents of Lafiaji Community with the construction of a Borehole Water System.

Sited in the Ganzalo Court, the Water Facility will serve residents within the neighborhood including Cappa Works Yard, Okesuna Street and the Lafiaji Quarters in the Council.

During the Commissioning ceremony, Hon. Williams said he embarked on the Community Project following several requests from the people of his Political Ward.

The Council Legislator representing ward F3, stated further that It is a community intervention initiative designed to meet daily domestic water usage of the residents.

“Ganzalo Court is one of the most densely populated settlements in my Community and I am glad to provide a sustainable solution to the residents’ daily water need”, Hon. Williams stated.

According to him, water supply shortage is a daily major problem in the Area.

The Deputy Leader reiterated his commitment to alleviating water scarcity problem faced by the Constituents.

He also enjoined residents to take full possession of the Project.

“I will extend the same gesture to other settlements in the community”, He vowed.

The Water Facility was commissioned on Saturday 18 May, 2024 by the Executive Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dr. Muibi Alade Folawiyo.

Dr. Folawiyo commended Hon. Williams and charged him to do more for the Constituents.

A Resident, Alhaja M. Yusuf expressed gratitude to Hon. Williams.

She said: “the construction of the Borehole Water System is timely. He provided it for us at a time the people were experiencing water scarcity and hardship. We no longer buy water again. Everyone is praying for him”.

Mr. Musbau Alao Animashaun otherwise known as Baale said the whole community is excited and the intervention has made access to potable water easier.

“We power the Borehole Water Facility in the morning and evening for everyone to fetch”. Mr. Animashaun said.

Recall that Hon. Williams had organised different social welfare Programmes and executed numerous projects in the community.
