Nigerian Social Media Influencer and Activist, Martins Vincent Otse aka VeryDarkMan took to social media to disclose that popular Nigerian rapper Naira Marley, disclosed to him that he owed the late star Mohbad a lot of money.
Mohbad who was signed to Marlian Music left the record label amidst a lot of controversies and contract breach. A few months after his exit from the label, Mohbad mysteriously died in September 2023 with many fans alleging that his former boss, Naira Marley had his hands in it.
In a video released by VDM, he disclosed that he at one time offered the record label boss a chance to use his platform to clarify the misconceptions surrounding the issues and clear his name, but Naira Marley who claimed to possess evidence of his innocence refused his offer and told him God will fight his battles.
According to VDM, Naira Marley confided in him that he owed his former artiste a huge sum of money which he will not disclose.
“I asked Naira Marley why he is not coming out to show the public his own evidence, the business side because he clearly owed the boy [Mohbad] some money,”
“He told me how much he owed the boy. It’s not a small amount of money.”
Speaking on the issues that led to the troubles between Naira and Mohbad, VDM said that the record boss told him that the late artiste became disloyal to his record label and began to take gigs and sign contracts outside the knowledge of his label.
Mohbad also complained about the management assigned to him and requested they be changed. He also allegedly started paying managerial fee to members of his fraternity instead of the label.
VeryDarkMan stated that he told Naira Marley that if he indeed had evidence and was telling the truth, then he should have a sit down and clear all issues.
He added that Naira Marley lacked confidence and would need to smoke a lot of weed to give him the courage to clear his name.
