Annie Idibia, the estranged wife of Nigerian music star, 2Face Idibia, appeared to take a subtle but pointed jab at the singer during her appearance at the Headies Awards ceremony on Sunday night.

While stepping onto the stage, Annie introduced herself not by her married name, but as Annie Macaulay, her maiden name.

In a moment that seemed both candid and deliberate, she said; “My name is Annie Idi—oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!”

The slip, quickly corrected, drew attention and cheers from the audience, hinting at her current relationship status and signaling a bold embrace of independence.

Later, when asked about her family, presumably referencing 2Face, she shifted focus entirely to her children, saying; “You mean my children?”

She responded sharply; “My children dey Kampe. The first one dey Yankee, she dey go school. No play with that girl o. I don’t play with my kids. Na them be my backbone.”

Her comments came shortly after reports surfaced that 2Face had introduced a her new lover, Natasha to his mother and other family members.
