Heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning led to the collapse of eight buildings and displaced residents in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The three-hour downpour affected Bulumkutu, Abuja, Moduganari, Ngomari, and other low-lying areas. Victims reported damage to homes and businesses, including a shop owner who lost her stock to the flood.

The state police command has deployed officers for rescue operations in affected areas.
