Mohbad’s Father. Joseph Aloba
Father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, has opened up about the events surrounding his son’s final moments, raising new questions and concerns about the circumstances of his death.
In a revealing interview with social media activist VeryDarkMan, Aloba shared that he received a distressing call from Mohbad’s mother around 4:30 p.m. on September 12, the day of his son’s passing.
She informed him that the singer was sick and had been hospitalized and he immediately made arrangements to meet her so they could go to the hospital together.
However, when they arrived at Osapa London, the narrative shifted. According to him, Mohbad’s uncle, Darosha, told him that the singer was getting better and that he could return home by 7:00 p.m.
“The sudden change made me uneasy. I was already sensing that my son was dead because they initially kept saying he was very sick, and then suddenly, he was fine and I should go back,” Aloba said.
His suspicions deepened when he followed them to Mohbad’s residence and encountered several red flags. Upon arrival, he was blocked from entering the house and had to identify himself before gaining access.
“When I got there, they blocked the entrance. I started introducing myself to create space to move because the place was crowded. I went upstairs where Mohbad and I usually met and saw that the duvet was soaked in blood,” he recounted.
Aloba also disclosed troubling developments that followed.
After giving a statement at the police station, he was allegedly denied access to the police report on grounds that he had not reported the death immediately. He claimed that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, had the doctor’s report but chose not to speak about it.
Even more shocking, he revealed that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at home without his consent and that the morgue initially refused to accept the body that same night.
Aloba’s statements have reignited public concern and speculation around the singer’s untimely death, intensifying calls for a transparent investigation.
