The Olowogbowo Walkway Football Club has concluded plan to host football match competition to celebrate the electoral victories of the Lagos Island local government chairman-elect, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan, Vice chairman-elect, Hon. Olatunji Issa Aru-Folami and ward A1 Councillor-elect, Hon. Oluwatosin Ologunmaga at the recently held 2025 Lagos local government elections.

The round leather game will feature a Three-a-side.

In an electronic message sent to Citizen NewsNG by the public relations officer of the football club, Mr. Moshood Alejo expressed satisfaction with the emergence of Hon. Oyekan as the winner of the chairmanship election.

He also commended the residents for their support for the All Progressives Congress and ward A1 councillor-elect, Hon. Oluwatosin Ologunmaga.

According to the organizer, the essence of the football match competition is to reiterate their support and celebrate the trio.

“It is to foster peaceful coexistence, individual and team development, while also offering entertainment and community engagement”.

“As a youth group, we believe in Hon. Oyekan’s vision for Lagos Island. He is a progressive and community development enthusiast.The decision to support him and all the APC candidates is collective”.

“We are very glad about the huge number of votes recorded in ward A1; one of the best election figures”, the organizer said.

Mr. Alejo disclosed that the football match will hold on sunday 20 July, 2025 at 7am in Olowogbowo community, Lagos Island, Lagos.

The grassroot sporting event would be sponsored by Mr. Azeez Damilola Obanikoro popularly known as “JACUZZI.”
