The meeting took place in Abuja, involving NCAA officials, Aviation Security (AVSEC) staff, and Ibom Air cabin crew, though Emmanson was absent from a scheduled meeting on August 20, reportedly due to being unprepared for travel following earlier airport drama. The NCAA arranged for her to meet in Lagos to avoid further issues.

The investigation follows a viral incident where Emmanson was allegedly dragged by Ibom Air staff, sparking public debate. The NCAA is probing the event to clarify details, with Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, emphasizing a thorough investigation to address passenger and crew conduct.
