Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has fired back at controversial activist Verydarkman following his claims that she reneged on an agreement to publicly apologise to singer Naira Marley and music promoter Sam Larry.

According to Verydarkman, the allegations arose from a roundtable meeting held at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, attended by Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and their legal representatives.

Reacting to the claims, Iyabo Ojo described Verydarkman’s narrative as false and manipulative, accusing him of twisting facts to suit his agenda. She dismissed him as deceitful, stating that his recent videos were driven by self-interest rather than truth.

The actress explained her stance, reaffirming that her earlier outspokenness on the Mohbad case was based on disturbing footage and social media reports following the singer’s death.

She specifically mentioned videos showing Sam Larry allegedly harassing Mohbad and mocking the tragedy, which she said solidified her belief in the bullying allegations.

“I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing shortly after Mohbad died. It didn’t sit well with me. Then I came across Sam Larry’s video harassing Zlatan and Mohbad, at that point, I believed the bullying claims,” Iyabo said.

Iyabo revealed that she had already petitioned the Cybercrime Centre and questioned Verydarkman’s motives.

“Verydarkman, I saw your video, and I know why you made those videos. I’m sure the NCCC has called to tell you that I’ve petitioned them, so you had to come out and do your normal manipulative tactics,” she added.

The actress also clarified that she had never met Naira Marley in person and only supported his music through her social media platforms in the past. She emphasized that her actions were motivated by concern as a mother and as a citizen calling for justice.

“I am a very wise woman. I know when to fight, when to listen and when to speak, unlike you who speak from both sides of the mouth and people should stop taking you seriously,” she said.
