Hon. Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, the executive chairman of Lagos Island local government, has paid surprise visits to the council’s free summer coaching centres amid excitement.

In his address, he stated that the free coaching was mapped out to impact formal and informal knowledge on the students during the summer holiday.

The council boss tasked them with hard work, consistency, and dedication. He also offered success tips to the students.

“Our goal is to foster both the structured, curriculum-based learning and the unstructured, experience-based learning that students acquire,” Hon. Oyekan said.

Popular Raggae Star, Mr. John Odafe Asiemo, also known as Daddy Showkey, enjoined the students to concentrate on their studies and shun bad peer group.

On her part, Nollywood actress, Mrs. Oluwaseyi Edun Johnson admonished them to set both short-term and long-term personal goals for a successful career.

A senior secondary school student, Anofi Tajudeen, hailed Hon. Oyekan’s education development programmes in the area council.

Grace Adedunmoye said: “Hon. Taiwo Oyekan is a source of inspiration to me and many other students on Lagos Island”.

In the council chairman’s entourage were the vice chairman, Hon. Olatunji Issa Arulai Folami, a former member of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Hon. Hakeem Masha, the leader of the legislative council, Hon. Isiaq Ajibola Badru, Honourable councillors, Chief of staff, Mr. Lateef Ogunfowora,Head of department, Education and library services, Mrs. Aminat Olanike Lawal, Head of department, Information and Public affairs, Mr. Olawale Cole and other notable council officials.
