There is rising panic in the Oyingbo area of Lagos Mainland as a building collapsed late Sunday night on Coates Street, leaving several persons feared trapped beneath the debris.
As at the time of filing this report, emergency response teams had not yet arrived at the scene. Residents and local volunteers have begun frantic rescue efforts, using basic tools and their bare hands to search for survivors while awaiting the arrival of the Lagos State rescue agencies.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been determined, and the number of people trapped remains unclear. Tension in the area continues to build as more residents gather in hope of locating their loved ones.
Residents are urgently calling on the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire Service and other first responders to move to the site immediately to prevent further loss of life.
