President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, following the elevation of the former minister, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Presidential Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
According to Onanuga, President Tinubu has already transmitted the details of Dr. Doro’s appointment to the upper legislative chamber for legislative consideration and confirmation.
Dr. Bernard Doro, born on January 23, 1969, hails from Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. He brings over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
The appointment is seen as part of the President’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key ministries and drive effective poverty reduction strategies nationwide.
