In his renewed effort to bolster the membership strength and electoral fortune of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Executive Chairman of Lagos Island local government, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan led party chieftains and his Team members on a tour of APC membership registration centres across the political wards earlier today, Thursday, 8 January 2026.

Speaking at the Party Secretariat, Hon. Oyekan said the ongoing APC electronic membership registration exercise aims to  register new members, revalidate existing ones, and build a strong and verifiable membership register.

According to the Mayor, the inspection became necessary to assess the turnout and identify resultant shortcomings and proffer solutions.

Addressing the registration agents, the Local Government Area(LGA) Chair of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Alh. Ganiu Sadiq tasked them to guide the registrants accordingly and intensify their efforts.

He hinted that the registration centres would be decentralised to provide opportunities for residents in remote communities to participate in the exercise.

Hon. Oyekan enjoined eligible residents across the ten (10) political wards to troop out in large numbers to register as APC members.

He reaffirmed his commitment to providing the necessary support and logistics for the successful conduct of the registration exercise.
