Anthony Joshua
After watching Tyson Fury defeat Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday night, Anthony Joshua fired back at his British rival, telling him to name his terms for a long-awaited showdown.
Joshua, a British boxer of Nigerian heritage, was ringside at Tottenham’s London Stadium as Fury returned from a 16-month retirement to win a unanimous decision over Russia’s Makhmudov after 12 rounds.
The victory, Fury’s 35th of his career, marked his first win in his last three fights.
Shortly after the bout, Fury called out Joshua. “I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua,” Fury said. “Let’s give the fight fans what they want — the Battle of Britain. I challenge you to fight me, the Gypsy King, next. Do you accept my challenge?”

But Joshua, 36, who survived a car crash last December that claimed his two trainers, dismissed Fury as a “clout-chaser”.
The Sagamu native told the 37-year-old Fury to enjoy his first win since losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024 before laying out any demands.
“Tyson, you are a clout-chaser. I’ve never had no problem getting in a ring with you—I punched you up as kids [in training]. Watching you tonight, I’ll punch you up again,” Joshua said.
“With all due respect, tonight is your night. You won’t tell me what to do. I’ve been chasing you the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions. I’m the boss. You work for me. I’m the landlord. You work for me.”
Joshua holds a record of 29 wins (26 KOs) and 4 losses. His last fight was an exhibition victory over YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
Though he lost his most recent title challenge to Daniel Dubois in 2024, Joshua has won five of his last six bouts.
