Yul Edochie, the Nollywood actor, has claimed that any political party Peter Obi joins will collapse due to a “non-physical” problem.

Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2025.

Recently, supporters of Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso launched the “OK Movement” to mobilise support for a possible joint ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a post via X, Edochie described Obi’s move to the ADC as a “waste of time”.

He suggested that the challenge surrounding Obi’s political ambition goes beyond what is obvious, hinting at a deeper underlying issue.

Edochie also questioned Obi’s awareness of the situation while maintaining that he cannot become Nigeria’s president at this time.

“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time,” he wrote.

“It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it.

“But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”

The actor is known to be a staunch supporter of Bola Tinubu.

In 2023, Edochie publicly expressed his admiration for the president, describing himself as an “Asiwaju baby”.

He also recently described people of Igbo descent who criticise their kins for supporting Tinubu’s administration as “cowards”.
