There was mild drama at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, Iyin-Ekiti, on Saturday during the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election as some voters resisted the presence of operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and chased them away from the polling centre.
The incident occurred while voting was in progress at the polling unit.
The EFCC operatives had reportedly arrived at the centre as part of efforts to monitor and curb vote-buying activities during the election.
However, their presence was met with resistance from some voters, who questioned the reason for their deployment to the polling unit.
The development created a moment of tension as the voters confronted the operatives and demanded that they leave the area, insisting that there was no evidence of vote-buying at the polling centre.
Following the confrontation, the EFCC officials withdrew from the polling unit, while the electoral process continued peacefully and without any disruption.
