Ace journalist and former Cable News Network International’s anchor, Isha Sesay will this week return to the studio of the news medium, not to interview a guest but to feature on the 30-minute magazine programme, African Voices. The programme is sponsored by telecommunications company, Globacom.
The 50-year-old British- Sierra-Leonean who was born on January 6, 1976 gained popularity as a result of her extensive career on the international news medium, which she joined as a news anchor in 2005 having previously worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Sky.
The alumna of Trinity College, Cambridge, the United Kingdom, having carved a niche for herself, became the host of the first edition of International Desk, CNN’s week news programme in 2009. She was privileged to interview, among other eminent personalities, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his successor, Late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Sesay contributed to Anderson Cooper 360° on CNN as presenter of the 360 Bulletin, a position she held from 17 January 2011, after which she was reassigned as anchor of another news show, CNN NewsCenter
In 2014, Sesay inaugurated her educational and humanitarian non-profit advocacy for the girl-child across Africa. This NGO, named Women Everywhere Can Lead, has since been rendering educational support to the target demography in order to position them as future leaders.
More recently, she made headlines for her journey into motherhood, welcoming her first child via In-vitro Fertilization, IVF, though, as a single mother. Sesay will be sharing details of her career trajectory, her advocacy as well as her new adventure into motherhood on CNN African Voices on Saturday at 7.30a.m.
Repeats of the edition will be on air at 11a.m. on the same day and on Sunday at 3.30a.m. and 6p.m. Further rebroadcasts are scheduled for Monday at 3 a.m.
