The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mustapha Darma Rabe has said the improvement of security challenges in some Northern states as well as infrastructural development going on in the region left the North with no option than to endorse the President Bola Tinubu re-election in 2027.

This was contained in a resolution read by the minister at the end of a strategic meeting held in Dutse, Jigawa State capital on Saturday.

The closed door meeting had in attendance six Northern governors, Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Mala Buni (Yobe), Jibrin Abubakar (Jigawa).

Also in attendance were of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin and Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Kabir Ibrahím Masari and some top government officials.

At the end of the meeting, the minister disclosed Muslim intellectuals and scholars were invited from the 19th Northern states and Abuja to discuss over the development the region had enjoy since the inception of the current government.

According to him; “more than 500 Islamic scholars, preachers and clerics from 19 northern states and FCT have passed vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and called for support for his re-election in 2027.”

Rabe noted that the Muslim intellectuals forum reviewed the Tinubu’s administration and concluded that the administration is making progress in security, infrastructure and development in North.

The resolution cited improvement in Kaduna, Katsina and Sokoto States over security challenges, while more work needed in Niger and Zamfara states.

Forum also highlighted rehabilitation of Kano-Kaduna highway as important to trade and economy, noting roads and security affect access to markets, schools, healthcare and livelihoods.
