ZULUM IN NIGER: 30,000 WOMEN, OTHERS RECEIVED FOODS AND NON-FOODS ITEMS

Governor of Borno, Babagana Umara Zulum on Sunday directly supervised the distribution relief items to the Nigerian refugees in Diffa, Niger Republic.

The Governor departed Maiduguri on Saturday for Malamfatori, Abadam Local Government Headquarters. From there Zulum proceeded to Difa where he met several refugees who are indigines of Borno.

Zulum apart from supervising the distribution of relief items also held several meetings with the officials from the Government of Diffa towards improving the livelihood of the refugees.

Diffa province presently houses over 120,000 refugees from four local government areas of Abadam, Mobar, Kukawa and Guzamala, all in Northern part of Borno state.

About 30,000 men and women benefits, each of them received either a token amount of money, bags of the varieties food items and non food items.

Items distributed include; bags of rice, bags of maize grain, cartons of cooking oil and wrappers. Each Male beneficiarie received; bag of rice, bag of maize grain and 3 liters of cooking oil, while female beneficiaries received cash and a wrapper each.

Zulum also commended President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that thousands of bags of rice distributed were donations from the Federal Government through the Nigerian Customs Service.

“We are so much indebted to the federal government under president Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian Customs Service has been supporting us in providing rice to our people. We remain eternally grateful to the President.
