Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly chapter, has threatened to embark on industrial action over unpaid allowances and other statutory entitlements.

PASAN issued the threat in a letter addressed to the Clerk to the National Assembly, dated March 18, 2021, and signed by the branch chairman, Sunday Sabiyi.

The association gave a 14-day ultimatum for the implementation/payment of National Minimum Wage/22 months arrears, hazard allowance, pending promotion arrears, among others.

Sabiyi said the association was forced to issue the threat after the expiration of its earlier 21-day ultimatum without any action on the demands.

“The Clerk to the National Assembly is hereby issued another 14-day ultimatum starting from 18 March to 31st March 2021 to effect the full implementation of our demands.

“Failure of which we cannot guarantee industrial harmony in the National Assembly Service,” he added.
