Amusan was cleared to defend her title last week when the Athletics Integrity Unit appeals panel found that she had not violated anti-doping rules, despite missing three whereabouts tests in 12 months, Punch reports.

Last year, she started her historic season with 12.40 seconds in her heat to set a new African record.

Amusan then posted 12.12 seconds to surpass a world record set by Kendra Harrison’s 12.20 seconds in 2016 on her way to claiming the 100m hurdles title at the World Championships in Oregon, USA.

What’s next for Amusan?
Having won her 100m Hurdles heat in Budapest, the Ijebu Ode-born star will lead the rest out in the semi-final on Wednesday at 7:20 pm Nigerian time.

Keni Harrison of the United States ran the fastest time in the Heats at 12.24s.

South Africa’s Marione Fourie qualifies
Sports Brief earlier reported that Marione Fourie is one step closer to qualifying for the Women’s 100m Hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

The South African was one of two athletes from the country competing in the heats for the event on Day 4 of the championships.

Fourie booked her place in the semi-final after she finished third in heat two, finishing in a time of 12.71s.
