Nollywood Actor, Dave Ogbeni, has recounted his last conversation with the late John Paul Odonwodo aka Junior Pope, prior to his tragic death.

Junior Pope died alongside four other crew members in the Anam River in Anambra State when leaving the movie location on Wednesday, April 10.

In an Instagram post shared on Saturday, Dave Ogbeni disclosed that Junior Pope had engaged in a conversation with him about the possibility of sharing his personal story with bloggers.

However, Dave advised him to exercise patience, suggesting that a resolution could potentially be reached without the involvement of the public eye.

According to Dave, Junior Pope had confided in him, revealing that he had been dying gradually since December last year.

Dave emphasized that he intends to disclose the details at an appropriate time.

He wrote, “On the day before the incident, we were drinking together after watching the Arsenal/Bayern Munich match, Junior Pope said Dave I think it’s time I told the bloggers my story.

“I said Bro, it hasn’t gotten to that; we can settle this without the world knowing. He looked me in the eyes and said what do you mean, since December?

“I’m dying gradually, and you’re telling me not to tell the world? If I die you will be the one to tell the world my story then, he died the next day.”

Meanwhile, rumors have emerged suggesting that Junior Pope and his wife had parted ways prior to the tragic incident, although these reports remain unverified at this time.
