Actress Ini Edo
Opening up on her own traumatic experiences with infertility, Nigerian Actress, Ini Edo, has made a shocking revelation about her journey into motherhood.
Ini, who is a star cast in Netflix’s reality show, Young Famous & African, confided in her co-stars during the season three premiere that she suffered from infertility issues that prevented her from carrying a child full-term.
The beautiful actress who welcomed her baby daughter through surrogacy, told her shocked co-stars that she had several IVF procedures and suffered six miscarriages, saying that she endured all this because she wanted to be a mother.
According to Ini, she sought other options knowing time was not on her side and chose surrogacy, stating that the topic was still sensitive for her to discuss publicly.
She revealed that the decision to have a life with just her daughter not minding the absence of a man in their lives was well thought of and she was happy with the results of her life changing decision.
The exchange with her co-stars went thus,
“Are you married?” Nadia asked.
“I’m not married,” Ini replied
“Are you together with the dad?” Nadia questioned.

“No I’m not,” Ini said.
“Is he still alive?”
“Well, I don’t know,” Ini replied to Nadia.
Nadia pushed more, “Girl, is he dead or not? It’s a yes or no question,”
“He’s not dead. He doesn’t have anything to do with us. We’re just two people. Just me and my child,” Ini maintained.
“My journey is one that I have not really wanted to talk about because it’s personal,”
“I’m raising her alone… I went through surrogacy,”
“There was no man in my life at the time and I wanted to have a child. There are different ways to go about that,”
“I don’t think surrogacy is something people just wake up and say that’s what they want to do,”
“I never thought I would be someone who had fertility issues. But I’ve had issues carrying pregnancies long-term,”
“When it looked like it was not going to happen the way I wanted it to happen and I wasn’t getting younger, I said, ‘What are the options? What is available to me?”
“And then, this option came up, so I took it, and I’m very happy with my decision,” she told her co-stars.
