Commercial motorcyclists in Gombe, known as ‘Mai Achaba,’ have accused police officers of extortion while enforcing the state’s 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. motorcycle curfew. Riders claim officers demand bribes of up to N5,000, seizing motorcycles and earnings.

The police command denied receiving formal complaints but promised to investigate any reported misconduct.
