Controversial Nigerian singer Portable, has fiercely denied theft allegations made by online personality VeryDarkMan, escalating their ongoing feud with a new diss track.
The drama began after VeryDarkMan publicly urged President Bola Tinubu to address Nigeria’s worsening economic crisis and the deadly attacks in Benue State.
In response, Portable took to Instagram to slam VeryDarkMan, accusing him of hypocrisy. He claimed that VeryDarkMan only began living a luxurious lifestyle under President Tinubu’s administration and should stop criticizing the leader.
Things quickly turned personal when VeryDarkMan fired back by posting an old video allegedly showing Portable being beaten in 2020 over claims he stole a tricycle (popularly known as keke) before rising to fame.
The feud further intensified after VeryDarkMan released a diss track targeted at Portable and two other popular figures, repeatedly chanting “Ole!”—the Yoruba word for “thief.”
Portable known for not taking insults lightly quickly entered the studio and released a track of his own.
Taking to Instagram, he posted a snippet of his own diss track aimed squarely at VeryDarkMan, in which he categorically denied the theft accusation.
He further lashed out at the social media critic, calling him a “Dodi”, a slang term with unclear meaning and made several controversial remarks, including accusations about VeryDarkMan’s sexuality.
“VeryDarkMan, your mother. You’re a poor person. Your father is a shoemaker. I take after my father. I’m not a thief. Stop calling me a thief,” Portable raps in the track.
As the feud unfolds across social media platforms, fans and followers fuel even more buzz around the already viral dispute.
