The Federal Government has issued an urgent five-day flood alert covering 76 high-risk locations across 19 states. This comes as deadly floods continue to wreak havoc nationwide, with 191 deaths and 94 people still missing, according to the National Emergency Management Agency.

The alert, issued by the National Flood Early Warning Systems Centre, urges communities and authorities to take immediate precautions, as widespread rainfall from August 5–9 is expected to worsen flood impacts.
