A senior officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has been found dead under mysterious circumstances after spending the night with three women at a hotel in Katsina State.
The deceased officer, identified as Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) Lawal Tukur, was discovered lifeless on Wednesday morning, October 15, 2025, at Murjani Hotel in Katsina metropolis.
According to reports, hotel staff became suspicious when the officer failed to respond to repeated knocks on his door. Upon gaining access around 8:30 a.m., they found him motionless on the bed and immediately alerted authorities.
Sources at the hotel disclosed that empty sachets of suspected substances were found in the waste bin inside the room. Three women — Khadija Ali (34) of Dutsin Amare Quarters, Aisha Lawal (30) of Ingawa Local Government Area, and Hafsat Yusuf (22) of Brigade Quarters, Kano — were reportedly with the deceased before his death.
It was gathered that Khadija and Aisha had spent the night with the officer, while Hafsat joined them later and also lodged in the same hotel.
The body of ASC Tukur was later moved to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Katsina, where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
Security sources confirmed that the Nigeria Customs Service has been notified, while investigations are ongoing to uncover the exact cause of death and determine whether foul play was involved.
