Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that Nigeria’s most difficult period is over, assuring citizens that the nation is firmly on the path to recovery and sustained progress.
Tinubu made this assertion on Tuesday during a one-day working visit to Imo State, where he commissioned Governor Hope Uzodimma’s flagship projects, including the Owerri-Umuahia Road, Assumpta Flyover, and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri.
The President also unveiled a book authored by Uzodimma, titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.”
“Nigeria is no longer where it was 10 years ago. Today, I can confidently say that the worst is over. We have the Renewed Hope Agenda, and we have a book sponsored by Hope,” Tinubu said.
“I thank you for your patience and perseverance. Nigeria is getting better.”
Highlighting the country’s recent economic progress, Tinubu pointed out that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.23 per cent at the end of the second quarter of 2025, while inflation dropped from 24.5 per cent at the beginning of the year to 20.1 per cent.
He also noted that foreign investors are regaining confidence in Nigeria’s economy and urged citizens to continue supporting his administration.
The President commended Governor Uzodimma for his vision and leadership, while expressing gratitude to the people of Imo State for the warm reception extended to him.
In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised Uzodimma for documenting history through his book, describing him as a performing governor dedicated to quality infrastructure.
He also lauded President Tinubu for implementing reforms that, according to him, have positively impacted the lives of Nigerians.
Governor Uzodimma, while welcoming the President, explained that his book was the result of thorough research and chronicles the journey of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the past decade, including its achievements and challenges.
Uzodimma maintained that the APC has made significant progress in areas such as infrastructure, economic reforms, and agriculture.
He further described President Tinubu as a leader of courage and clarity, stressing that his own administration in Imo State has also recorded tangible achievements in education, security, civil service welfare, and infrastructure.
