Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms to May 8, 2026, giving prospective candidates more time to complete their registration for tertiary education.
The Board’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, said the extension was part of efforts to ensure that no eligible candidate is denied the opportunity to further their education due to time constraints.
According to him, the initial deadline has now been shifted to allow wider participation in the ongoing 2026 Direct Entry exercise.
In addition, JAMB has approved five new registration centres in response to increased demand in some locations.
The newly designated centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Mini Campus of the University of Ilorin in Kwara State; Bells University of Technology in Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University; the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre at the Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House) in Iwaya, Lagos, which is scheduled to commence operations on April 30, 2026.
JAMB also reiterated that its offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) and Professional Testing Centres (PTCs), remain open to accommodate candidates seeking to register for the Direct Entry programme.
Benjamin emphasised that the extension and additional centres are aimed at expanding access and easing the registration process for applicants across the country.
