Cute Abiola, the Nigerian skit maker, has sparked criticism following the release of a documentary detailing his wife’s labour and delivery process.
Earlier in April, Abiola and Khudrah Mosunmola welcomed their second child.
The content creator shared heartwarming photos from their maternity shoot, featuring the couple and their first child. He described their newborn as a “priceless gift” and expressed gratitude to God for the blessing.
Days later, he released a documentary in which celebrities guessed the baby’s gender. In a recent Instagram post, Abiola shared a longer narrative spanning from ten days before delivery up to the birth itself. He also revealed that doctors had advised his wife to undergo a caesarean section.
Watching my wife prepare for her third surgery in 4 years was one of the hardest moments of my life. The fear… the silence… the prayers… the sleepless nights… it wasn’t easy.
Alhamdulilah for everything

The video included moments where Abiola recorded himself praying for his wife’s safe delivery, as well as scenes of him sitting with her, offering emotional and physical support.
The video sparked a chorus of criticism on social media. Several users condemned the move as “extreme content creation”. Critics on X accused him of turning his wife’s “vulnerable moment” into an opportunity to generate income online.
Some users also called him insensitive to his wife’s pain, noting she has had “three caesarean sections in four years”.
“That cute Abiola wife was in labour pain and the only thing the husband could do was to carry his phone to video her for content who does that?” a user wrote.
“Using his wife vulnerable moment as content.”
Another user wrote: “Na small e remain, The Cute Abiola almost filmed his wife’s private part.
“Well, maybe their next pregnancy journey, they’ll start filming from when they are having sex in their bedroom. Bruhhhhh……. People have lost their souls in the name of content creation.
“How can your wife be in that state of ẹsẹ kan aye ẹsẹ kan orun and putting camera in her face to monetize it is the next thing in your mind.”

It is sad the extent to which human beings can go for social media views and clicks, sometimes outrightly endangering the lives of people they claim they love.
