Loyalists of former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, have officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state. The group also declared support for Bola Oyebamiji, a former commissioner and governorship hopeful, during a political gathering held in Osogbo. Party leaders described the move as a major boost for the APC as preparations for the election continue.

The returning members said unity inside the APC has become necessary to defeat political opponents and reclaim stronger control in Osun State. Supporters of Oyebamiji believe the fresh alliance will strengthen the party’s structure across local governments and increase their chances in the coming election. The development has already increased political tension in the state as different camps continue building alliances ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
