An elderly woman popularly known for selling akara and bread on Ani Street, Ikom-Obudu Road, was caught on Friday, June 5th, 2026, mixing human stool — solid waste eliminated from the human body — with the beans she uses to fry akara for public sale.

She was caught by her own customers who had gone to patronize her business, unaware of what they had been consuming from her for a very long time.

The angry crowd told her to open what she was hiding, but she deliberately refused. They forcefully opened it so everyone could see for themselves without needing an interpreter.

When asked why she was doing it, she said it was the handiwork of the devil and that she had been doing it for a very long time to attract more customers. “99 days for the thief, but one day for the owner,” she added.
