Reiss Nelson
Arsenal have agreed to terminate Reiss Nelson’s contract by mutual consent, making the 26-year-old winger a free agent.
Nelson had a few months remaining on his contract, which included an option for a further year. He will now assess offers from clubs in England and abroad before deciding on his next move.
The Athletic correspondent David Ornstein confirmed the development on X, writing: “Reiss Nelson agrees deal with Arsenal to terminate contract by mutual consent.
“Terms ran until June 2027+1 but 26yo winger leaves #AFC now as a free agent.
“Interest from England & abroad – will assess options before deciding next step.”
Nelson came through Arsenal’s academy and made his first-team debut in 2017, and spent periods on loan at Hoffenheim, Feyenoord and Fulham before returning to the Gunners.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta declined to comment when asked about the club’s reported interest in Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
“Don’t go there. You know I’m not going to make any comment about a player who isn’t with us.
“My focus is on the players we have here and the work we’re doing with them,” Arteta said.
